You have time for a visit? Well, pull up a chair and let's grab a cup of coffee.
Think for just a moment and envision a huge banner suspended over your head with the word LOVE written on it in gold. May His banner of love encourage you today!
This January, I attended my first marathon. Notice the word "attended." Yes, I was just a spectator. But, what a great occasion it was to see the runners standing under the huge starting line banner, anxiously awaiting the gun announcing that the race had begun. Being a part of the crowd, cheering the runners on, encouraging them with chants such as "Do your best", "You're almost there', "great job"--was truly an exhilarating experience. It was if I was able to place my own banner of love directly over their lives.
And, then, after hours of grueling running, the runners approached the finish line--back where they started, underneath the initial banner, knowing it was the end, that they had achieved their goal and that it had been waiting for them the entire time.
You, as a believer in Jesus Christ, have the banner of LOVE over you constantly. Every step you take, whatever situation you find yourself going through, be it sickness, loss of job, a struggling relationship, or just life itself, His banner of love is over you. It never leaves. No matter how far you run it will always come back to you. Knowing, believing, and living that out, you will see and hear evidences of God cheering you on, encouraging you, giving you rest and showing His love to you.
A lot of you know that I am a "visual" person. At different times in our home, I would make a banner of a word or phrase we needed to encourage us and I would hang it across the threshold to the dining room. Every time we would walk under it, our eyes would see it and we would be reminded of what God was doing in our lives and who He is.
Make "His banner of love" over you a mental banner and walk out each day knowing His love for you. It does not change. He loves you!
Be blessed and maybe next time we will visit with a cup of coffee in hand. Ginny
